It’s all I have to bring today (26)

by Emily Dickinson

It’s all I have to bring today –
This, and my heart beside –
This, and my heart, and all the fields –
And all the meadows wide –
Be sure you count – should I forget
Some one the sum could tell –
This, and my heart, and all the Bees
Which in the Clover dwell.

Here, Dickinson seems to be telling her beloved what she can bring. It’s not just her heart but the entire world around her. Even if it isn’t hers to give, it is what she wants to offer. She offers everything and anything that she can because of her deep desire to show love.

Will you give everything?
