The guide arrived in the mail a few days ago. In just under 3 weeks, I will be on my way to Kenya. The adventure begins by navigating several airports in an effort to arrive in Nairobi.

Once there, on the 19th, I will get the chance to meet the other 36 travelers, our two Compassion sponsor staff leaders, and the two Kenyan Compassion staff hosts who will help us on our way.

According to the guide, there will be five child development centers that our group will get to visit, including one that works with the Maasai, one that is in the heart of one of the largest slums in Nairobi, and then we travel towards Embu, Kenya. Here, we visit children in the remaining three projects. This is also where we learn about Complementary Interventions, and the Child Survival Program.

There will be so much to learn and absorb, and I am praying that my heart will be ready to take it all in. I am still trying to figure out what to pack, too.

My Bible study group has been so wonderful and has provided me with funds to go, blankets, and one has a connection with a great dentist who has volunteered to donate over 200 toothbrushes.
